Staff Accountant to join our
General Accounting team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys hands-on journal entry and reconciliation work, understands core accounting concepts, and is ready to contribute to a collaborative team focused on accuracy, process improvement, and timely financial reporting.
As part of a growing, centralized accounting function, you will support key close activities, help prepare and maintain account reconciliations, assist with ledger-related work, and partner across teams to ensure accounting tasks are completed accurately and on time. This is a great opportunity for someone with general accounting experience who is looking to build depth, gain exposure to broader accounting processes, and grow within a supportive environment.
What You Will Do - Prepare and input journal entries with accurate support and documentation
- Complete account reconciliations and help resolve variances or outstanding items
- Support close activities
- Assist with general ledger accounting tasks and related financial reporting support
- Help strengthen and document accounting processes, templates, and procedures
- Collaborate with accounting, finance, actuarial, and other business partners as work transitions into the centralized accounting team
- Manage assigned tasks, while meeting deadlines and maintaining strong attention to detail
What We Are Looking For - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; equivalent professional accounting experience may be considered
- Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in general accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, or close support
- Strong understanding of basic accounting concepts, including debits, credits, reconciliations, and general ledger activity
- Ability to work accurately in a deadline-driven close environment
- Comfortable taking direction, asking thoughtful questions, and following work through completion
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-up
- Ability to collaborate well with team members and cross-functional business partners
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with SAP or another ERP system
- Experience with BlackLine or other reconciliation tools
- Insurance, financial services, or regulated industry experience
- Exposure to quarterly reporting, financial statement support, or statutory accounting activities
- CPA eligibility, CPA progress, or interest in continued accounting development
