Technical Architect (NetSuite Fixed Assets Management /Finance)
Duration: Approximately 3.5 months (targeting)
Time Zone: US Working Hours
Remote Role
We are looking for a contractor for a Fixed Asset Module (FAM) Architect.
Because this module is heavily customized here at Lime, we need a candidate highly proficient in both scripting and functional configurations. Specifically, they will perform FAM FIT GAP analysis and suggest high-level architecture proposals and hence this role is very critical
The ideal candidate will bring deep techno-functional expertise across NetSuite Fixed Assets Management and broader Record-to-Report processes, with the ability to dive deep into current system design, business workflows, accounting treatment, data flows, and operational realities. This person will partner with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Sourcing, Operations, and Enterprise Systems teams to recommend practical, scalable, and compliant solutions across the full fixed asset lifecycle.
What You''ll Do:
- Lead the NetSuite FAM fit-gap assessment across current-state processes, configurations, customizations, reports, and integrations.
- Deep dive into the existing NetSuite environment and document business process flows, system behaviors, dependencies, pain points, and control gaps across the FAM lifecycle.
- Define future-state E2E solution design for fixed asset processes including capitalization, CIP tracking, asset transfers, depreciation, revaluation, impairment, write-off, retirement, and disposal.
- Evaluate how FAM should interact with upstream and downstream processes including procurement, item receipts, inventory movements, landed cost impact, project or construction flows, general ledger accounting, and reporting.
- Assess standard NetSuite FAM capabilities versus custom solution needs, and recommend where to use native functionality, configuration, workflows, saved searches, SuiteScript, or integration patterns.
- Review accounting design and transaction flows to ensure accurate posting logic, subledger integrity, reconciliation, and auditability.
- Identify process and system gaps related to asset creation triggers, capitalization rules, CIP clearing, depreciation methods, partial retirements, write-offs, disposal accounting, and exception handling.
- Provide clear recommendations for scalable global design, data model improvements, controls, and governance aligned to Lime’s operational footprint and finance requirements.
- Produce fit-gap outputs including current-state findings, future-state architecture, prioritized recommendations, risk areas, and implementation roadmap.
- Partner closely with business and technical stakeholders to validate assumptions, walk through options, and align on pragmatic solution decisions.
- Support effort estimation and delivery planning for any approved enhancements, redesign, or implementation follow-on work.
About You:
- Experience: 10+ years of ERP solutioning experience, with strong specialization in NetSuite and deep expertise in Fixed Assets Management.
- NetSuite FAM Expertise: Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing NetSuite FAM solutions across depreciation, CIP, capitalization, transfers, revaluation, write-off, retirement, and disposal.
- Fit-Gap & Architecture Strength: Strong experience leading fit-gap assessments, solution workshops, architecture reviews, and future-state design for complex enterprise ERP environments.
- Techno-Functional Depth: Ability to bridge accounting requirements, operational process design, NetSuite configuration, and technical solution patterns.
- Financial Process Knowledge: Deep understanding of Record-to-Report, fixed asset accounting, depreciation methods, asset lifecycle controls, month-end close, reconciliations, and audit support.
- Process Integration Expertise: Strong knowledge of how fixed assets interact with procurement, receiving, inventory, project accounting, intercompany, and general ledger processes.
- NetSuite Platform Knowledge: Strong command of NetSuite configuration saved searches, workflows, SuiteAnalytics, and SuiteScript concepts sufficient to evaluate design feasibility and implementation complexity.
- Data & Reporting: Experience defining asset data standards, migration requirements, reporting needs, and reconciliation approaches for fixed asset subledger and GL alignment.
- Compliance Mindset: Strong understanding of SOX-aware design, segregation of duties, audit trails, controls, and finance system governance.
- Communication: Ability to run workshops, challenge assumptions constructively, synthesize complex findings, and present clear recommendations to both technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in global or multi-subsidiary NetSuite environments with complex finance and operational process dependencies.
- Experience supporting fixed asset solution design for high-volume physical asset environments.
- Familiarity with NetSuite custom asset handling patterns such as utilization-based depreciation, asset transfer calculations, disposal triggers, and asset-related custom reporting.
- Experience evaluating integration touchpoints between NetSuite and adjacent enterprise platforms.
- Experience preparing implementation roadmaps, design documents, and executive-ready recommendation summaries following fit-gap analysis.
