Senior Accounting Analyst (Expense Accounting) to support expense accounting, reporting, process improvement, and project-based requests within the Finance and Accounting organization. This role will help ensure consolidated financial information is accurately recorded in SAP while partnering with teams across Actuarial, Finance, Accounting, and our sister company, American Equity Life.

What You'll Do - Support expense accounting activities and help ensure accurate financial information is recorded in SAP
- Assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis requests, including vendor expense reporting and historical expense reviews
- Partner with Actuarial, Finance, Accounting, and AEL counterparts on expense studies, pricing models, reporting needs, and process alignment
- Help maintain and improve accounting processes, procedures, account mapping, and cost center structure
- Drive project-based requests and reporting functions with limited day-to-day supervision
- Provide accounting guidance and support to operating areas to help resolve complex accounting questions
What We're Looking For - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred or relevant work experience considered in lieu of degree
- Accounting, finance, or related professional experience
- Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze, organize, and interpret financial data
- Expense accounting experience preferred; broader accounting experience will also be considered
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and follow through on project-based requests
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications - Ability to support SAP-related initiatives, including the transition from ECC to S/4HANA and planning/reporting changes from BPC to SAC Planning
- Experience with SAP financial systems; SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA experience is strongly preferred
- Power BI experience is helpful but not required
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or a similar corporate accounting environment
Work Environment This position requires a physical presence in the company office on a full-time basis. The role is physically comfortable and allows discretion with walking, standing, sitting, and similar activities. This is an individual contributor position that typically receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general instruction on new assignments.
