This CNC Machinist role machines component parts to specified dimensions and tolerances within assigned router hours at a manufacturing facility that emphasizes forward thinking, collaborative, and ethical business practices. This position works a four day schedule, Monday through Thursday.
The CNC Machinist machines parts following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications, and sets up, adjusts, and operates CNC machine tools to perform diversified operations requiring close or exact tolerances on parts with varied dimensions, contours, and finish specifications. This role selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials in the machine, and maintains and inspects cutting tools for sharpness and usability. The Machinist calculates and sets controls and programming to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, and starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance conditions, adjusting controls as needed. This position also maintains and edits CNC programs to fine tune process performance, cleans and maintains machines, tooling, and parts to keep equipment in optimal production condition, and recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
