Job Overview:
The organization is seeking a Senior Application Support Analyst with experience working with Equities products. As part of a dynamic team, the successful candidate will leverage market-leading technologies and solutions in an agile-oriented environment. The candidate s actions will help the teams achieve ambitious business goals by implementing a data-centric enterprise architecture dedicated to Capital Markets. This position serves as the primary point of contact for production support of the Equity platform in the Americas, ensuring the best possible experience for Trading, Sales, and Operations users. The successful candidate will own incident resolution, handle trader requests, and actively monitor the platform while contributing to its continuous improvement and resilience.
Other Requirements:
The candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The first 3 months require 5 days in the office.
- Post first 3 months, a minimum of 3 days in the office is mandatory, working from the office in Montreal.
- Availability to start early at 7:00 AM to support the US market.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the first line of escalation for production incidents on the Equity platform.
- Triage, investigate, and drive resolution of issues within agreed SLAs, ensuring clear and timely communication to stakeholders including Front Office Trading.
- Serve as the primary IT contact for Trading, Sales, and Operations teams.
- Process and fulfill day-to-day trader requests, data queries, configuration changes, and workflow investigations, ensuring high responsiveness and service quality.
- Proactively monitor the health and performance of Equity platform applications using dedicated monitoring tools.
- Detect anomalies before they impact users and trigger appropriate remediation actions.
- Ensure proper monitoring instrumentation is in place and accessible, supporting both day-to-day platform stability and ad hoc analysis.
- Maintain dashboards and alerting relevant to business operations.
- Investigate recurring incidents and platform shortfalls.
- Document findings and formalize proposals to address identified issues.
- Work with development and infrastructure teams to implement fixes.
- Work closely with support and delivery teams globally to ensure follow-the-sun coverage.
- Share best practices across the organization.
- Contribute to the improvement of support processes through scripting and automation of repetitive tasks.
- Participate in CI/CD pipeline activities where relevant to production stability.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot into daily support workflows to improve efficiency and quality of deliveries.
Education & Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in application support, IT operations, or a hybrid support SRE role in the financial industry.
Financial Knowledge:
- Equity business and financial market knowledge.
- Understanding of equity front-to-back workflows.
- Basic instrument knowledge including stocks, indices, options, futures, and swaps.
- Knowledge of P&L and VaR concepts is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with monitoring systems such as ITRS Geneos and ELK is required.
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL, including query writing, stored procedures, and query optimization.
- Experience with Windows Server environments, including services, IIS, and scheduled tasks.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux navigation, shell scripting, and Perl.
- Experience with batch scheduling systems such as Control-M.
- Experience with incident and request tracking tools like Jira or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible.
- Working knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with AI Tools like GitHub Copilot.
- Knowledge of C# is a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
