Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Structural Engineering Professional for a position with a Global Engineering Firm based in the Moon Township, PA. This is a 5+ month contract opportunity. As a Structural Engineering Professional, you will be an integral member of the design team, assisting in the performance of structural analysis and design for projects. You will work closely with Structural Leads, Engineers, and Designers to develop design concepts, complete analyses, and ensure structural requirements are clearly communicated on design documents. Responsibilities: - Under general supervision, competently perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design
- With guidance and direction, develop judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
- Develop knowledge of principles and practices of lateral analysis and design (wind and seismic), including the ability to apply required provisions of the building code
- Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control
- Perform calculation checking of other engineers' work
- Take responsibility for managing workload, making and keeping commitments, and taking full ownership of assigned work
- Take complete ownership of your portion of the structural scope, reliably working to meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements
- Identify scope changes and escalate to the Structural Lead
- Work in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner with strong attention to detail
Requirements: - Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in structural engineering
- Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to perform field walks, which may include climbing ladders, crawling under raised access floors, or walking/standing for extended periods
Desired skills: - MS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or MS degree in Structural Engineering
- Experience with Structural Engineering analysis software STAAD, Navisworks and Bluebeam
- Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures
- Experience in semi-conductor industrial or general industrial facilities
Pay range: up to $52.00 per hour
