Summary

Position : ArcGIS Architect

Location : New York/Onsite

Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Consultant to lead the design and implementation of enterprise GIS solutions for Utilities.
The ideal candidate will have deep domain expertise in North American Utility markets, with a proven track record of architecting and delivering GIS solutions using Esri ArcGIS and Client ArcFM platforms.
You will play a pivotal role as a GIS Solution Architect, guiding utility clients through digital transformation initiatives, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing GIS implementations.
This is a techno functional leadership role that demands strategic thinking, hands-on technical expertise, and strong client engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end GIS solution architecture and implementation for utility clients (Gas & Electric).
Evaluate client's current GIS landscape (e.g., geometric network, legacy systems) and recommend migration strategies to Utility Network.
Lead prototype and develop implementation roadmap, including effort estimation, resource planning, and commercial proposals for full-scale Utility Network deployment.
Conduct architecture workshops with client stakeholders to align solution vision, integration touchpoints, and technical feasibility.
Architect solutions using Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcFM, and related technologies.
Provide technical leadership across project lifecycle from planning and design to deployment and support.
Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of GIS systems in multi-tier, multi-machine environments.
Support proposal development, client presentations, and pre-sales activities as needed.
Lead Technical and Functional design workshops with the customer.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s/ Master s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution.
Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education. Must Have:
15+ years of experience in GIS techno-functional roles, with at least 5 years as a GIS Architect.
Strong domain knowledge in Gas & Electric Utilities asset management, outage management, network tracing, field mobility, etc.
Proven experience implementing GIS solutions in the North American Utility market.
Proficient in Esri Utility Network development, including data modelling, rule configuration, and network validation.
Expertise in Esri ArcGIS platform ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal, Server, Data Store, Web AppBuilder, Experience Builder.
Familiarity with utility systems integration OMS, ADMS, CIS, SCADA, ERP. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Experience with cloud deployments (Azure/AWS), containerization, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
Understanding data governance, security, and compliance in utility environments.
Certifications in Esri technologies or TOGAF/Solution Architecture frameworks.
Knowledge of FME
Azure (Azure Data factory, Azure Data Explorer, etc.), Microsoft ADO boards (Code configuration & Task tracking tool)
Ready to travel to client locations as needed
