CTG is seeking to fill a DataStage Migration Architect - IBM CP4D position for our client.
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 11 months
Duties:- Own end-to-end migration strategy, architecture, and execution from IBM DataStage 11.7 to IBM CP4D 5.3 DataStage NextGen.
- Design migration patterns for Server Jobs, Parallel Jobs, Sequence Jobs, routines, shared containers, sub-flows, parameter sets, and orchestration pipelines.
- Develop reusable migration patterns, MVPs, complexity classifications, and wave entry/exit criteria.
- Use S2PX, IBM CCMT, MettleCI, CPDCLI, and AI coding tools for code conversion, refactoring, automation, and mass migration activities.
- Establish performance baselines and quality gates; validate migrated jobs meet or exceed legacy runtimes.
- Lead production cutover, dress rehearsals, back-out planning, remediation, issue resolution, and knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with SMEs, platform support, stakeholders, and IBM CP4D Product Engineering/Support.
Skills:- Expert IBM DataStage 11.7 - Server, Parallel, and Sequence Jobs.
- Proven CP4D 5.x DataStage NextGen migration experience.
- Strong IBM OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) knowledge.
- Expert Unix/Linux scripting and Python.
- Experience with S2PX, IBM CCMT, MettleCI, CPDCLI.
- Experience using AI coding agents/tools, including GitHub Copilot and IBM Bob, for code conversion, refactoring, and automation.
- Strong migration architecture, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and cutover skills.
- Insurance and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) domain experience preferred.
Experience:- Expert-level experience architecting and executing DataStage-to-CP4D migrations.
- Experience leading large-scale, pattern-based ETL migration programs.
- Experience with high availability architecture, production cutovers, performance validation, and migration remediation.
- Experience working with technical SMEs, business stakeholders, platform teams, and vendor/product support organizations.
- Insurance/EDW experience strongly preferred.
Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
