Job Summary
We are seeking a Production Control / Batch Scheduling Technician to monitor and support production job flows across mainframe, UNIX, and PeopleSoft environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with enterprise job scheduling, batch processing, job failure troubleshooting, and production support.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor batch jobs and production workflows using enterprise scheduling tools.
Troubleshoot failed jobs, JCL errors, schedule issues, and batch processing problems.
Establish and maintain job dependencies and batch flow schedules.
Escalate critical production issues to appropriate support teams and document incidents.
Execute and troubleshoot test flows and assist with production/test migrations.
Support mainframe, UNIX, and PeopleSoft batch processes.
Perform basic troubleshooting and restart/rerun failed jobs when required.
Required / Preferred Skills
3 5+ years of job scheduling / Production Control / Batch Operations experience.
Experience with CA Workload Automation DE/dSeries, Control-M, AutoSys, TWS, or similar scheduling tools.
Strong knowledge of z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and mainframe batch processing.
Experience with GDGs, File-AID, IDCAMS, and mainframe utilities is preferred.
Experience troubleshooting job failures, ABENDs, JCL errors, and batch flows.
Knowledge of UNIX and/or PeopleSoft Process Monitor.
Experience with Connect, FTPS, FTP/SFTP, PuTTY, or WinSCP is a plus.
Strong documentation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of standard SDLC and production support processes.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field with relevant IT operations/production support experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
