Cole Engineering Services (CESI), a By Light company, is recognized as a premier provider of modeling and simulation (M&S) training solutions to the Federal Government and industry. Position OverviewCole Engineering Services (CESI) is seeking a motivated and talented Level 1 Software Design Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative engineering team. In this entry-level role, you will work closely with senior developers and cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions. This is an opportunity to grow your skills in a collaborative environment and make meaningful contributions to mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities- Familiarity with the Java Programming Language.
- Understanding of fundamental computer science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to tackle complex challenges and create innovative solutions.
- Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Team-Oriented Mindset: A desire to work collaboratively and provide constructive feedback during code reviews and planning.
- Eagerness to Learn: A passion for software development and a willingness to continuously learn and grow.
- Attention to Detail: The ability to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are well-structured.
Required Experience/Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Preferred Experience/Qualifications- Familiarity with web development technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience with TypeScript and Angular is a plus.
- Knowledge of databases, including SQL, is preferred.
- Knowledge of container runtime environment such as Kubernetes is a plus.
Special Requirements/Security ClearancePlease note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U. S. Citizenship status with ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance. Security Clearance requirements will be specified in the Government's Task Order.
