Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Engineer to work at the intersection of traditional enterprise database engineering and emerging Generative AI technologies. The ideal candidate will design scalable database solutions, develop AI-powered data capabilities, and leverage modern AI/ML technologies to enhance database engineering, performance, and automation. Key Responsibilities Design and build scalable database services and solutions for complex business requirements. Debug critical database issues and perform root-cause analysis to implement long-term solutions. Research, design, develop, and modify applications using SQL, PL/SQL, Python, and AI-assisted development tools. Prototype solutions and recommend adoption of emerging technologies, including Generative AI and LLM-powered database tooling. Develop and deploy application database changes and releases across production and non-production environments. Build and maintain LLM-powered database assistants using LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks. Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using structured and unstructured data from Oracle and PostgreSQL databases. Integrate AI-powered query optimization capabilities to enhance database performance-tuning workflows. Leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate PL/SQL and Python development. Build vector database integrations using technologies such as pgvector and Oracle AI Vector Search. Evaluate AI/ML model-serving patterns for database-adjacent workloads. Drive prompt-engineering best practices for database-related AI applications. Drive code quality, AI governance, and database AI engineering practices. Collaborate with database engineers, Product Owners, UX/UI teams, and globally distributed teams. Define engineering best practices, including AI-assisted Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated unit testing. Mentor teams on AI tool adoption, prompt engineering, and AI-enabled data engineering. Develop specifications for database services incorporating AI-native design patterns. Manage multiple priorities and deliverables within an Agile environment. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field. 10+ years of experience as a Database Developer or DBA in an Agile environment. 7+ years of Oracle Developer/DBA experience with expert-level PL/SQL and SQL skills. Deep expertise in database internals, PL/SQL, SQL, Python, and Shell programming. Strong experience with Oracle, MSSQL, PL/SQL, and SQL. Experience with Python and Shell scripting. Experience with Git, Jenkins, Ansible, and Artifactory. Hands-on experience with AWS. Experience with Linux/Red Hat environments. Strong knowledge of Oracle VPD, partitioning, JSON data, and performance tuning. Knowledge of prompt engineering, NL2SQL, and Text-to-SQL systems. Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field. 2+ years of hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, or ML pipelines in production environments. Experience with RDS Oracle and RDS PostgreSQL. Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, RAG pipelines, and vector stores such as pgvector. Experience with LLM platforms such as OpenAI API, Azure OpenAI, or AWS Bedrock. Experience with Bitbucket and CI/CD processes for AI model deployment. Experience with AWS SageMaker or Azure Machine Learning. Knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate, Cloud Control, and related advanced Oracle technologies. Relevant Oracle, AWS, database, or machine-learning certifications. Education: Bachelors Degree Certification: Oracle , AWS , machine-learning , Database
