Sybase DB Engineer
Duration: 6 to 12 months
Work Locations: (Any location from below works, non locals also works. But 5 Days onsite mandatory)

· Core Expertise: Solid understanding of Sybase ASE, performance optimization, patching, and lifecycle management.
· Transformation & Migration: Support Sunsetting and modernization of Sybase platforms, including migration to Aurora PostgreSQL or equivalent strategic targets.
· Engineering & Automation: Perform repeatable engineering tasks to reduce operational risk; automation using Python/Ansible is preferred to accelerate migration and decommissioning efforts.
Technical Expertise & Platform Capability:
· Demonstrated experience supporting DB2 UDB, Sybase, Oracle, and MS SQL environments
· Depth of knowledge in database architecture, performance tuning, and HA/DR
· Proven success in complex enterprise database environments
· Strong automation skillset using Python and Ansible
Cloud Transformation & Migration Experience:
· Hands-on experience with on-prem to AWS RDS migrations
· Capability to support schema, data, and application transformation
· Experience with modernization and platform decommissioning
Service Delivery & Operational Excellence:
· Incident management, problem resolution, and SLA adherence
· Ability to maintain high availability and system reliability
· Quality and consistency of operational processes
