Job Title: Senior Jira/JPD Administrator – Configuration & Integration
Location: Pleasanton, CA (Onsite)
Jira & JPD Administrator will analyze, design, configure, test and deploy changes to Jira Software and Jira Product Discovery to support the new operating model. The role will also develop and configure Jira/JPD API endpoints and API-based solutions for extraction and ingestion of integration data, working with a middleware integration team to enable integrations to other tools.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess the impact of the new operating model and taxonomy on existing Jira and JPD configurations.
• Design and configure JPD idea intake, prioritization, demand classification and product roadmap structures.
• Configure Jira work hierarchies, issue types, workflows, fields, screens, boards and product-aligned backlog structures.
• Configure product hierarchy, team, people and OKR/Goal-related structures required by the target solution.
• Design, develop and test tool-side REST API capabilities for extracting data from and ingesting data into Jira/JPD.
• Support integration developers in connecting Jira/JPD APIs and troubleshooting end-to-end interface issues.
• Perform configuration and API testing, resolve defects, and support rollouts.
• Maintain configuration, API and deployment documentation.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of hands-on Jira administration experience in an enterprise environment.
• Strong experience administering Jira Software and Jira Product Discovery.
• Strong knowledge of Jira issue hierarchies, workflows, custom fields, boards, JQL, permissions and automation.
• Hands-on experience with Jira Cloud REST APIs, including reading, creating and updating Jira work items and related data.
• Ability to translate Jira/JPD data models into API request and response structures.
Preferred Skills
• Jira Premium/Enterprise and Advanced Roadmaps/Plans experience.
• Experience with Jira Goals/OKRs and product-oriented agile delivery models.
• Experience developing Jira automation, webhooks or API-based integrations.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot/API middleware and Kafka-based integration architectures is an added advantage
• Experience integrating Jira/JPD with PPM, HR, EA or service-management platforms.
• Atlassian certification.
