Role: Field IT Technician
Position Type: Contract-to-Hire
Location: Portland Metro Area - Onsite
Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 annually, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-Time
Travel: Frequent local travel with occasional overnight travel
Position Overview:
Our client Field IT Technician to provide onsite technical support, hardware deployments, end-user assistance, and technology implementation across multiple locations. This role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys working directly with users, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting a variety of technology initiatives.
The successful candidate will have strong customer service skills, proven technical troubleshooting experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite and remote technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripheral equipment.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Support employee onboarding, workstation setup, and equipment deployment.
- Assist with office technology projects, equipment refreshes, and site support activities.
- Document support requests, resolutions, and asset information.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism when supporting end users.
- Travel to various locations as needed to provide technical support and project assistance.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of IT support, desktop support, or field technician experience.
- Experience supporting Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Comfortable performing physical tasks associated with equipment installation and setup.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel regularly and occasionally stay overnight when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting multi-site environments.
- Basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with hardware deployment, asset management, and inventory tracking.
- Familiarity with conference room and collaboration technologies.
