Overview
A North American distribution and supply chain organization is seeking an experienced SAP Infrastructure Architect for a multi-year SAP S/4HANA transformation. This role will bridge the gap between SAP and enterprise infrastructure teams to ensure SAP is fully integrated into the technology ecosystem. The position focuses on infrastructure architecture, cloud integration, observability, disaster recovery, operational readiness, and enterprise platform integration, rather than SAP functional configuration or development. The candidate will work across SAP, AWS, infrastructure operations, security, monitoring, and IT service management teams.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary infrastructure architect supporting a large-scale SAP S/4HANA (RISE) implementation.
- Develop architecture patterns that integrate SAP into enterprise infrastructure and operational processes.
- Design and coordinate SAP integration with enterprise platforms, ITSM tooling, and disaster recovery programs.
- Act as a liaison between SAP specialists and infrastructure engineering teams, translating technical requirements.
- Define end-to-end monitoring, alerting, and operational support strategies across SAP and non-SAP environments.
- Architect and coordinate disaster recovery solutions spanning SAP, cloud platforms, and associated systems.
- Lead infrastructure readiness planning for SAP production deployments and ongoing operational support.
- Collaborate with internal architects, cloud engineers, and application owners to accelerate infrastructure workstreams.
- Document architecture standards, operational procedures, and technology roadmaps for the SAP ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of infrastructure architecture or enterprise architecture experience.
- Experience supporting SAP landscapes, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP RISE, SAP BTP, or related platforms.
- Understanding of enterprise infrastructure operations and ITIL-based service management practices.
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise disaster recovery and resiliency solutions.
- Knowledge of hybrid infrastructure environments including AWS Cloud, VMware, Windows Server, Linux, and enterprise networking.
- Experience integrating enterprise platforms into ServiceNow and operational support models.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with infrastructure, cloud, SAP, security, and application teams.
- Communication skills to translate technical concepts for different audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS architecture and networking expertise, including VPC design, Transit Gateway, and cloud security.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise transformations and ERP modernization initiatives.
- Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), MuleSoft, Databricks, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Elastic, Splunk, or similar monitoring technologies.
- Background supporting SOX-regulated enterprise environments.
