Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Architect who can serve as a strategic bridge between business needs, processes, and technology solutions.
The Business Architect will initially work closely with the Biomedical Services team, supporting the understanding, analysis, and transformation of business processes and technology capabilities. The role will involve partnering with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, and delivery teams to translate complex business challenges into clear capabilities, processes, requirements, roadmaps, and technology-enabled solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of business architecture, process transformation, capability mapping, and technology-enabled change. Exposure to enterprise CRM platforms, particularly Salesforce Cloud solutions, is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Business and Technology Alignment
- Partner with stakeholders within the Biomedical Services team to understand business objectives, operational challenges, stakeholder needs, and strategic priorities.
- Develop a strong understanding of business processes, capabilities, systems, data flows, and operational dependencies.
- Translate business strategy and objectives into clearly defined business capabilities, processes, requirements, and technology needs.
- Act as a trusted liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring that proposed solutions address genuine business needs.
- Facilitate discussions between business stakeholders, architects, product teams, and engineering teams to establish a common understanding of problems, opportunities, and desired outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and transform business processes through technology.
Business Architecture and Process Design
- Develop and maintain business architecture artifacts, including:
o Business capability maps
o Value streams and stakeholder/customer journeys
o Current-state and future-state process models
o Business process flows
o Operating models
o Business and technology roadmaps
o Capability gap assessments
- Analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, manual activities, technology gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Define future-state business processes and partner with technology and architecture teams to determine the most appropriate solution approach.
- Establish traceability between business strategy, capabilities, initiatives, requirements, technology solutions, and measurable outcomes.
Solution Shaping and Requirements
- Lead or support discovery workshops, stakeholder interviews, process-mapping sessions, and solution-definition activities.
- Work with Product Managers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and business stakeholders to convert business needs into well-defined epics, features, capabilities, and requirements.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and Technical Architects to evaluate solution options and recommend approaches that balance business value, cost, risk, scalability, and maintainability.
- Participate in solution design discussions to ensure proposed technology solutions remain aligned with intended business outcomes.
- Help define business acceptance criteria, KPIs, and success measures for major initiatives.
Stakeholder and Portfolio Management
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across business, product, architecture, engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
- Communicate complex business and technology concepts effectively to both executive and technical audiences.
- Support prioritization of initiatives based on business value, strategic alignment, operational impact, risk, dependencies, and implementation complexity.
- Contribute to business and technology roadmaps and assist leadership in making informed investment decisions.
- Identify cross-functional dependencies and facilitate alignment across multiple teams and programs.
Technology and Salesforce Collaboration
- Develop a strong understanding of the business technology landscape and its supporting applications, integrations, and data flows.
- Work closely with technology architects, administrators, developers, and product teams to ensure alignment between business needs and technology solutions.
- Where applicable, work with Salesforce architects, administrators, and development teams supporting business processes.
- Understand the functional capabilities of relevant Salesforce Cloud solutions and assess how they may address business needs.
- Participate in defining Salesforce-enabled business processes, stakeholder journeys, and solution requirements.
- Support assessment of impacts across Salesforce and integrated enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with integration, data, security, and enterprise architecture teams to ensure end-to-end business processes are appropriately represented in technology solutions.
Governance and Continuous Improvement
- Ensure business architecture and solution decisions align with organizational strategy, architectural principles, and established standards.
- Support the development of business cases, impact assessments, and transformation roadmaps.
- Identify risks, assumptions, dependencies, and organizational impacts associated with business and technology changes.
- Promote reusable business capabilities, standardized processes, and enterprise-wide solutions where appropriate.
- Continuously assess opportunities involving technology, automation, AI, analytics, and digital capabilities to improve business outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Systems, Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of experience in business architecture, business analysis, solution consulting, enterprise transformation, product management, or a similar role focused on bridging business and technology.

- Experience working in Agile, SAFe, product-based, or other modern delivery environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, blood services, biomedical services, nonprofit or public-sector.
- Experience working with complex operational processes involving service delivery, scheduling, case management, customer/donor engagement, or regulated workflows.
- Exposure to Salesforce Cloud platforms, such as (at-least 2-3 areas):
o Sales Cloud
o Service Cloud
o Experience Cloud
o Nonprofit Cloud
o Data Cloud
o Other industry-specific Salesforce solutions
- Experience understanding or defining Salesforce-enabled business processes, integrations, and solution requirements.
- Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns, APIs, data flows, and data governance.
- Experience with cloud platforms and enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with AI, automation, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives.
Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, Lucidchart, Visio, or similar business and architecture modeling tools.
