Our Client is seeking a Data Business Analyst to support data-driven business initiatives across Sales, Operations, Finance, Distribution, and Customer-facing functions.
The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis and data skills with the ability to understand business workflows, ask the right questions, translate business needs into actionable requirements, and leverage modern AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to accelerate research, analysis, documentation, and process understanding.
This person will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, IT, and project managers to identify requirements, document current-state processes, define future-state needs, and support prioritization of data and reporting initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and requirements-gathering sessions.
- Understand distributor, sales, order-entry, finance, and operational workflows.
- Translate business problems into clear business and data requirements.
- Analyze existing reports, data sources, and business processes.
- Identify data quality, reporting, and process gaps.
- Create BRDs, user stories, process maps, requirements documents, and acceptance criteria.
- Work with Power BI/reporting teams to translate business requirements into dashboard specifications.
- Support data cleanup and master-data initiatives.
- Assist with CRM, AP automation, order-entry, and AI quoting initiatives.
- Use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and similar platforms to accelerate research, documentation, workflow analysis, and requirements development.
- Challenge assumptions and proactively identify missing requirements.
- Support intake and prioritization of business requests.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 7-8 + years of Business Analyst/Data Business Analyst experience.
- Strong requirements gathering and documentation experience.
- Experience working with data-intensive business processes.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to independently drive discovery and ask effective questions.
- Experience working with business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong Excel and SQL skills preferred.
- Experience with Power BI or other BI platforms preferred.
- Experience with ERP/distribution environments preferred.
- Comfortable using generative AI tools for research and productivity.

- Experience with ERP data.
