Summary

Role: Duck Creek Billing Senior Developer/Architect

Location: Preferable Boston region, remote is acceptable for right talent

Contract : 6 months+

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Duck Creek Billing Senior Developer to design, develop, configure, enhance, and support Duck Creek Billing solutions for commercial and personal insurance carriers. The candidate will play a key role in product development, platform upgrades, integrations, and production support while collaborating with business analysts, architects, QA teams, and client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Design, configure, and develop solutions within the Duck Creek Billing platform.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs and configurable solutions.
Develop and maintain:

Billing Rules
Product Configuration
Forms and Correspondence
Rating Components
Workflows
Billing Plans
Invoicing and Payment Processing

Build and enhance integrations with:

Policy Administration Systems
Claims Systems
General Ledger / Finance Systems
Payment Gateways
Third-party services

Develop and troubleshoot:

XML
XSLT
C#
SQL Server objects (Stored Procedures, Views, Functions)

Support platform upgrades, cumulative releases, and Express 2 to Express 3 migrations.
Perform code reviews and enforce development best practices.
Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and technical solutioning.
Support SIT, UAT, production releases, and post-production support activities.
Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor''''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
6–10+ years of software development experience.
4–8+ years of hands-on Duck Creek experience.
3+ years of Duck Creek Billing implementation or enhancement experience.
Strong experience with:

Duck Creek Billing
C#
XML
XSLT
SQL Server
Web Services / APIs

Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Duck Creek Certifications.
Experience with Duck Creek Policy and Billing integration.
Experience with Duck Creek Express 3 (E3).
Experience in:

Commercial Lines
Specialty Insurance
Excess & Surplus
Workers Compensation
Professional Liability

Experience with cloud deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience performing platform upgrades and modernization initiatives. Experience with Billing upgrades and Express migrations is common in current Duck Creek programs.
