Bordereaux (BDX) Analyst Job Description
A Bordereaux (BDX) Analyst is an insurance data professional who specializes in validating, analyzing, and reconciling insurance bordereaux official statements showing premiums, claims, and other financial data for carriers, MGAs, and program businesses.
Role Overview
The BDX Analyst supports data validation, reporting, and reconciliation activities for insurance operations. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with underwriting, finance, claims, and operations teams.
Required Experience:
Experience directly with Policy Admin Systems
Experience working through BDXs issues with MGAs, diving into the source of the data and the fix
Experience communicating with carriers about these issues
Experience defining validations and building out those stories for the engineering team
Key Responsibilities
Create, maintain, and validate BDX reports for carriers, MGAs, and program business.
Analyse written premium, earned premium, paid premium, claims, and policy data for accuracy and completeness.
Reconcile differences between written and paid BDX reports, investigating discrepancies.
Extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets using SQL from multiple systems.
Perform data quality reviews to identify anomalies, trends, and inconsistencies.
Collaborate with underwriting, accounting, claims, and operations to resolve reporting issues.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and carrier reporting requirements.
Develop ad hoc reports and dashboards to support business decisions.
Document reporting processes, data definitions, and reconciliation procedures.
Assist in automating BDX creation and validation processes where applicable
