We are looking for a highly experienced Hands-on Mainframe IMS Application Database Administrator (IMS DBA) with strong expertise in IMS database administration, database recovery, z/OS, and mainframe application support.
This is strictly an Application IMS DBA requirement, NOT a DB2 DBA position.
Candidates with only DB2 DBA experience will not be considered.
TOP REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
IMS Database Administration: Hands-on IMS DBA experience, IMS HALDB, IMS Catalog, DBRC, and logically related application databases.
Database Recovery: DBRC, forward recovery, and IMS database recovery procedures.
z/OS & Mainframe: Strong knowledge of z/OS, TSO, ISPF, SDSF, SYSVIEW, and mainframe utilities.
JCL & REXX: Development, analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting of complex JCL and REXX programs.
Mainframe Application Support: CICS, COBOL, IMS programming, VSAM, and batch processing.
MINIMUM SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Strong experience working on the IBM z/OS Systems Platform.
Hands-on experience with Mainframe Application IMS Database Administration.
Experience with DBRC and forward recovery procedures.
Experience with basic z/OS utilities, including TSO, SYSVIEW and/or SDSF, JSF, and IBM utilities such as IDCAMS, IEBGENER, and IEFBR14.
Experience with Batch, CICS, COBOL, IMS programming, and application problem resolution.
Strong experience developing, analyzing, and troubleshooting complex JCL.
Experience with JCL, CICS, VSAM, and TSO.
Ability to write, analyze, debug, and troubleshoot REXX programs in a z/OS environment.
Hands-on experience with IMS HALDB databases.
Experience with IMS Catalog.
Working knowledge of Top Secret setup, administration, and reporting.
Experience maintaining mainframe printer assignments, including IPPrintway.
Experience with ISPF panels, skeletons, and REXX code.
Experience with ISMF storage functions.
Working knowledge of batch SFTP and FTPS processing.
Working knowledge of Informatica PowerExchange using mainframe datasets (IMS and VSAM) as source or target for Change Data Capture (CDC).
Experience with logically related application IMS databases.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 12+ years of overall IT experience.
Strong hands-on IMS Application DBA experience is mandatory.
Must have practical experience with IMS HALDB, DBRC, IMS Catalog, and database recovery.
Candidates must be available for a 100% remote engagement within the USA.
Strong communication and mainframe troubleshooting skills.
