Oracle RAC infrastructure responsibilities are the primary skill driving the role.
Required Skills
• 8–10 years of experience administering Oracle Databases with strong Unix/Linux skills.
• Experience administering application servers such as Tomcat, Apache, and ORDS, with solid network and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on experience working with PeopleSoft databases and application servers.
• Strong understanding of SAN multipath storage.
• Administer Oracle RAC production databases running Oracle 19c or higher on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), including design, provisioning, and maintenance.
• Design, create, and maintain databases for development, testing, and production environments.
• Perform installation, monitoring, patching, and database administration for Oracle Database, Oracle Advanced Security, and Oracle RMAN.
• Implement and manage database security controls to ensure data integrity and access control.
• Efficiently manage database storage, backups, and recovery processes.
• Collaborate with DBAs, application administrators, developers, and testers to improve system performance, data quality, and define solutions to complex problems.
• Expert in SQL and Oracle Database Administration tools, including Oracle RAC, ASM, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Partner with system administrators, storage, and network teams to resolve external issues impacting environments.
• Strong proficiency in writing shell scripts, SQL, and PL/SQL for database administration tasks.
• Install and configure WebLogic services including Tomcat and ORDS.
• Configure and maintain GoldenGate replication; administer multi-site Oracle RAC database implementations using Oracle Data Guard and Connection Manager.
• Optimize database performance by tuning queries, hints, indexes, and schema design.
• Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, performance, and data integrity issues using SQL scripts and tools such as Azure SQL DB Query Store insights.
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c.
• Experience writing PL/SQL packages, functions, triggers, and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL/PLSQL.
• Working knowledge of Linux and shell scripting.
• Configure database and network connectivity for production environments.
• Experience with high-volume websites using multi-tier architectures is a significant plus.
• Knowledge of Oracle RAC best practices for implementation.
• Ability to assess systems and recommend technologies for high availability, disaster recovery, and high performance.
• Experience building environments in Azure or AWS is a plus.
