Oracle DBA – Production Support - W2s Only

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Oracle DBA with 6+ years of hands-on experience in database administration and production support. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle databases, with additional experience in PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and cloud environments such as Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring database performance, availability, reliability, security, backup/recovery, and operational stability across production and non-production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7 production database support through rotational shifts and on-call responsibilities.
• Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle and other database environments.
• Perform database performance tuning, troubleshooting, health checks, and query optimization.
• Manage backup, recovery, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
• Perform database patching, upgrades, migrations, and maintenance with minimal downtime.
• Manage database security, user access, permissions, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Monitor and resolve database incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams on deployments and database-related issues.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using SQL, Shell, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or other scripting tools.
• Utilize monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, and Nagios.
• Support database environments across on-premises, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform platforms.
• Maintain database documentation, configurations, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
• Assist with database license management and compliance activities.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with strong Oracle DBA expertise.
• Strong SQL, database troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Data Guard, HA/DR, backup and recovery, and database administration.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL Server is highly desirable.
• Strong scripting experience with Shell, PowerShell, SQL/T-SQL, or Python.
• Experience with database monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, or Nagios.
• Experience with Ansible and/or Terraform for automation.
• Experience supporting database patching, upgrades, migrations, and production deployments.
• Understanding of database security, access management, compliance, and auditing.
• Exposure to cloud database environments, particularly Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong communication, documentation, troubleshooting, and incident-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Database Administrator certification or equivalent.
• Microsoft Azure Database Administrator certification.
• Experience with cloud-based database services.
• Strong experience with database automation and Infrastructure as Code.
