Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented PeopleSoft Functional Financials Production Support Analyst to join our team (currently 2 analysts and 2 developers) in supporting a high-profile enterprise PeopleSoft Financials implementation. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business operations and technical solutions, focusing primarily on functional analysis, issue triage, and end-user support across core financial modules.
The ideal candidate brings strong functional analytical capabilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to seeing incidents and service requests through to complete resolution. Emphasis on functional analytical capabilities of the software as well as the business processes. A technical aptitude desired – but no technical development will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Support & Incident Management: Act as a primary tier of support for PeopleSoft Financials, triaging, diagnosing, and resolving incidents and requests submitted via ServiceNow. Requests include all aspects of the system, including adding/updating/removing Security Access.
- Functional Analysis: Analyze complex business issues, identify root causes, replicate bugs in non-production environments, and collaborate with technical developers to design, test, and deploy functional fixes and enhancements.
- PeopleSoft Application Module Coverage: Provide day-to-day support and business process guidance across General Ledger (GL), Purchasing (PO), Inventory (INV), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Project Costing (PC), and Customer Contracts (CA).
- Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the internal SME for core PeopleSoft Financials modules, supporting business areas in the following: financial business process flows, financial reporting, auditing, security and financial calendar of events (month end close, quarter end close, year end close), and PeopleSoft best practices.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Relationship Building: Build strong, trust-based relationships with business users, accounting teams, project leads, support team and IT peers to ensure seamless communication and aligned expectations.
- Communications: Keep Service Delivery Manager and Engagement Manager appraised of all progress, and any issues encountered. Foster an open dialog with other production support team members, client team members and business area end users.
- Documentation & Reporting: Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) to draft and/or update functional specifications, business process workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), knowledge base articles, and user training materials.
- Testing & Validation: Develop test scenarios, execute functional unit/system integration testing (SIT), and support business partners during User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- On-Call Coverage: Participate in a scheduled, alternating after-hours and weekend on-call rotation to handle high-priority production incidents and support critical batch processing/month-end close windows.
Required Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- PeopleSoft Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on functional support experience with PeopleSoft Financials (v9.2 preferred), specifically supporting core modules: GL, AP, AR, PO, INV, Project Costing, and Contracts.
- Technical Understanding: Solid foundational understanding of PeopleSoft architecture, batch processing/Process Scheduler, Application Engine jobs, and basic SQL query writing for data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Ticket Management: Direct experience using ServiceNow (or comparable enterprise ITSM tools) for incident, problem, change, and request lifecycle management.
- Office & Productivity Tools: Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Core Competencies:
- Exceptional follow-through and ownership of issues from intake to final sign-off.
- Demonstrated relationship-building skills with both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
