FP&A Product Owner with strong PeopleSoft Finance Exp. || G.C / U.S.C

Position Summary:
You will cover Core Finance, FP&A, Expenditure Management, Branch Economics, Financial Advisor Compensation, and Financial Advisor Teaming and Partnerships. You will work closely with Product Management, Finance, Engineering, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Legal.
What you’ll do
Own and prioritize the backlog
- Maintain and prioritize the backlog for your Digital Finance capabilities.
- Turn strategy into epics, features, user stories, defects, and enablers.
- Write acceptance criteria, non-functional requirements, control requirements, and audit considerations.
- Make sure items are refined, sized, sequenced, and dependency-aware before sprint and PI planning.
- Make timely trade-off decisions across value, feasibility, risk, and regulatory needs.
Define value and measure outcomes
- Work with Finance and Product Management to identify and size opportunities.
- Document problem statements, value hypotheses, benefits, risks, assumptions, and business case inputs.
- Set success measures such as adoption, usability, efficiency, control effectiveness, cycle time, and defect trends.
- Review post-release results and stakeholder feedback to refine future priorities.
Deliver in Agile and get releases ready
- Lead backlog refinement with engineers, business analysts, and technical leads.
- Set sprint goals, resolve ambiguity, manage scope changes, and keep a decision log.
- Support PI planning by presenting team scope, negotiating dependencies, and proposing capacity-based scope.
- Coordinate testing, business acceptance, release readiness, and operational handoffs.
- Turn sprint review feedback into backlog updates and improvements.
Align stakeholders and govern
- Build alignment across Finance, Technology, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and ART stakeholders.
- Facilitate decisions on complex enhancements and new capabilities.
- Report priorities, progress, decisions, risks, impediments, and release plans to leadership.
- Keep control requirements, dependencies, and delivery risks visible to the teams.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- 5+ years as a Product Owner or in a similar role (Product Delivery Manager, Business Analyst, Product Manager) delivering digital products.
- Deep expertise in PeopleSoft Finance and/or accounting principles.
- Proven backlog ownership for Agile teams, including prioritization, refinement, sprint planning, and release planning.
- Ability to turn business goals into clear epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and definitions of ready and done.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, including structuring ambiguous problems.
- Experience using outcome and delivery metrics to guide priorities and measure results.
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Hands-on experience with SAFe, Scrum, and/or Kanban.
- Working knowledge of digital finance platforms, integrations, and enterprise architecture.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Aha!, Mural, and Asana.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in Corporate Finance, FP&A, Expenditure Management, compensation, branch economics, or related areas.
- Experience in a regulated financial-services environment (risk, controls, compliance, audit).
- Strong customer advocacy in prioritization and acceptance decisions.
- Ability to balance architecture, performance, scalability, and security with business goals.
