Senior Product Owner: Finance (General Ledger) Data & Integrations

Required

• 8+ years in ERP Finance, Finance Systems, finance data, business analysis, functional consulting, or product ownership, including time as the accountable Product Owner or functional lead on a significant workstream.

• Hands-on ability to read and write SQL: joins, aggregation, filtering, and set comparison, sufficient to understand an existing extract, profile data, and reconcile two result sets independently. This is a working requirement, not a nice-to-have.

• Demonstrated experience analyzing existing extracts or interfaces to derive requirements and then specifying their replacement on a new platform.

• Deep General Ledger functional knowledge, including consolidations, intercompany and eliminations, reporting currency and currency translation, ledgers, allocations, close, and financial reporting.

• Strong GL functional knowledge in at least one major ERP platform: PeopleSoft, Workday, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.

• Understanding of sub-ledger accounting and how sub-ledger activity is accounted and posted to the GL, ideally through Accounting Center or a comparable accounting engine.

• Familiarity with EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) applications as consumers of GL data, and what they require for consolidation, planning, and management reporting.

• Demonstrated experience on ERP implementation, modernization, migration, or finance transformation programs, ideally including at least one full lifecycle through go-live.

• Proven ability to elicit requirements and produce user stories, acceptance criteria, source-to-target mappings, process and data documentation, and UAT scenarios.

• Comfort operating across both worlds: credible with CFO-organization stakeholders and equally effective with data engineers on mappings, transformations, and defects.

• Experience in Agile delivery using Jira, Azure DevOps, or a comparable backlog-management tool.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and problem-solving skills; able to drive decisions in ambiguity.

• Ability to work a hybrid schedule from Cary, NC.

Preferred

• Insurance or financial services experience, with exposure to statutory reporting, insurance accounting (STAT/GAAP), or data from actuarial, investment, reinsurance, or risk functions.

• Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft General Ledger, including its table structures, and the ability to read SQR.

• Experience with Workday Financial Management, Workday integration patterns (EIB, Core Connectors, Prism), or FDM design.

• Experience with finance data migration, data integration, data warehousing, or building certified data products.

• Familiarity with Azure, Databricks, ADF, ADLS Gen 2, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, or Snowflake, enough to reason about feasibility and cost with engineers.

• Experience with specific EPM or consolidation and planning tools such as Oracle Hyperion or EPM Cloud, OneStream, Anaplan, Adaptive, or Workday Adaptive Planning.

• Product Owner, Agile/Scrum (CSPO, PSPO), ERP Finance, or accounting certification (CPA, CMA) a plus.
