Please find the below job description and let me know if you would be interested in the below position
Position: Project Manager - Enterprise Storage
Location: Remote
Hiring Mode: 6+ Months Contract
Job Description:
Client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead enterprise storage engagements from kickoff through customer handoff. This remote contract role will manage new storage platform deployments, data migrations, subscription-based upgrades and expansions, and data protection and cyber-resilience initiatives.
The Project Manager will partner with professional and advanced services engineers, customer stakeholders, and partner teams to keep work on scope, on schedule, and on budget. The successful candidate does not need to be a storage engineer, but must be technically fluent enough to understand storage architectures, migration sequencing, cutover and rollback planning, and infrastructure dependencies.
The role is expected to work in the same time zone as the account and internal delivery teams.
Responsibilities:
l Own the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, handoff, and closeout.
l Build and maintain project plans, schedules, risk, assumption, issue, and dependency (RAID) logs, status reports, decision logs, and financial forecasts.
l Coordinate installation, configuration, validation, upgrade, expansion, and refresh activities for enterprise block, file, and object storage platforms.
l Plan and manage migrations from legacy storage platforms, including discovery, dependency mapping, migration waves, cutover windows, validation, and rollback planning.
l Manage subscription-related lifecycle activities, including controller upgrades, capacity expansions, and technology refresh cycles.
l Serve as the primary project contact for customer sponsors, infrastructure leads, application owners, engineers, architects, partner teams, and third-party vendors.
l Lead kickoff meetings, weekly status calls, steering committees, executive readouts, and project closeout reviews.
l Translate technical details, risks, and decisions into clear business updates for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
l Manage scope, statements of work (SOWs), change requests, budget, hours, utilization, schedule, and expectations to protect delivery quality and margin.
l Schedule and coordinate resources across multiple concurrent projects, including staffing, handoffs, dependencies, and escalations.
l Apply consistent delivery governance, methodology, templates, documentation standards, and approval controls for new tools and processes.
l Confirm acceptance criteria, as-built documentation, operational handoff, and knowledge transfer are complete before closeout.
l Capture lessons learned and contribute to repeatable delivery playbooks and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
l Required: 5+ years of information technology (IT) project management experience, including 3+ years leading infrastructure or enterprise storage projects.
l Required: Working knowledge of block, file, and object storage; storage area networks (SAN); network-attached storage (NAS); replication; snapshots; RAID; data reduction; and performance and capacity planning.
l Required: Experience managing data center migrations, storage refreshes, infrastructure cutovers, or similarly complex technical deployments.
l Required: Strong command of Project Management Institute (PMI)/Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), Agile, or hybrid project delivery frameworks.
l Required: Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or a comparable project management platform, plus Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
l Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentation and facilitation experience.
l Required: Experience managing budgets, forecasts, change control, statements of work (SOWs), and budget-to-actual reporting.
l Required: Demonstrated experience establishing governance for new processes and tools and leading the project management activities required to implement them in an enterprise environment.
l Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), or equivalent certification.
l Preferred: Direct experience delivering enterprise all-flash storage, scale-out file and object storage, container storage, or related data platform projects.
l Preferred: Relevant storage platform certification, or the ability to earn one within 90 days of starting.
l Preferred: Familiarity with VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Kubernetes, containers, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and backup and recovery platforms such as Veeam, Commvault, or Rubrik.
l Preferred: Understanding of cyber-resilience practices, including immutable snapshots, ransomware recovery, disaster recovery, and recovery validation.
l Preferred: Experience in a professional services, partner, consulting, or customer-facing delivery model.
l Preferred: Experience supporting multiple concurrent projects in a global or multi-time-zone environment.
l Core competencies: Technical fluency, proactive communication under pressure, risk anticipation, structured problem solving, customer focus, commercial awareness, ownership, accountability, teamwork, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Tools and Technologies:
l Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
l Enterprise block, file, and object storage platforms; SAN and NAS environments; replication and snapshot technologies
l VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Kubernetes, containers, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Veeam, Commvault, and Rubrik
l Project schedules, RAID logs, status reports, decision logs, change controls, SOWs, financial forecasts, and delivery governance artifacts
