Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP Finance Functional Consultant to support a client’s SAP implementation project. The ideal candidate combines a strong understanding of finance business processes with hands-on SAP configuration experience and the ability to translate business requirements into practical SAP solutions.
This role requires direct involvement in requirements gathering, functional design, system configuration, functional specifications, testing, and implementation support.
Key Responsibilities
Work with finance stakeholders to understand business requirements, document current processes, and define future processes in SAP.
Analyze business needs and recommend SAP solutions that support operational and financial reporting requirements.
Perform hands-on configuration within the assigned SAP Finance scope.
Support relevant finance processes, which may include General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, and period-end closing, depending on project scope.
Prepare clear functional specifications for required enhancements, interfaces, reports, forms, and workflows.
Collaborate with technical developers to explain requirements, review proposed solutions, and validate completed functionality.
Coordinate with other SAP functional teams to address integration requirements across finance, sales, and procurement.
Prepare and execute functional test scenarios, support integration testing and user acceptance testing, and resolve configuration or process issues.
Maintain functional documentation and support data validation, cutover, go-live, and knowledge transfer as required.
Desired Qualifications
Ideally 8–10 years of relevant SAP Finance functional consulting experience.
Experience supporting SAP implementation projects with direct responsibility for functional configuration.
Strong understanding of financial accounting processes and their integration with other business functions.
Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into SAP configuration and functional designs.
Experience writing detailed functional specifications and collaborating with development teams.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with business and technical teams in a remote environment.
