Position: SAP HR/Payroll Consultant

Position Summary
Role Overview (US & Canadian Payroll):
Primarily responsible for coding and building tax, legal, and regulatory deliverables for the United States and Canada, working closely with in-country Business Analysts. Additional responsibilities include providing technical support for development activities, assisting functional team members, and troubleshooting complex payroll-related issues. This includes understanding the flow and integration of payroll data across systems, recommending system design enhancements, conducting thorough testing, and maintaining detailed documentation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develop solutions for SAP R/3 4.6 ECC 6.0 updates across multiple functional modules, with a focus on US and Canadian payroll
Support payroll configurations including taxation, benefits, garnishments, and statutory compliance requirements in the US and Canada
HANA experience is an added advantage
Perform software development, unit testing, and integrated testing
Conduct regression and functional testing to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality of all payroll updates
Collaborate as part of a Scrum team to deliver technical solutions in an Agile environment
Troubleshoot and debug payroll processing issues, including tax calculations and year-end activities (e.g., W-2, T4)
Develop and maintain technical documentation for payroll configurations, enhancements, and processes
Experience:
5 7 years of SAP Payroll development experience, with a strong focus on US and/or Canadian payroll
In-depth knowledge of US payroll processes (e.g., federal, state, and local taxes, FLSA, garnishments) and/or Canadian payroll regulations (e.g., CRA requirements, CPP, EI, provincial taxes)
Experience supporting multi-state (US) or multi-province (Canada) payroll environments is highly preferred
Strong understanding of payroll compliance, statutory reporting, and year-end processing (W-2, T4, ROE, etc.)
Experience working with SAP HR/Payroll schemas, rules, and payroll driver functions
Ability to analyse and resolve complex payroll and tax-related issues
Exposure to integrations between SAP Payroll and other HR/Finance systems
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
