Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP MDG Configuration Expert to lead the configuration, enhancement, and support of enterprise master data governance solutions within the SAP landscape. This role is responsible for configuring and optimizing SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) processes, ensuring high-quality master data, streamlined governance workflows, and alignment with business requirements across Customer, Supplier, Material, Business Partner, and Financial master data domains. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience configuring SAP MDG solutions, collaborating with business stakeholders, and supporting end-to-end master data governance processes in SAP S/4HANA environments. We are not accepting corp-to-corp candidates at this time.
Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain SAP MDG data models, governance workflows, business rules, validations, derivations, and change request processes.
- Support governance processes for Business Partner, Customer, Supplier, Material, and Financial master data domains.
- Configure SAP MDG workflows, BRF+ rules, duplicate checks, search capabilities, and data quality controls.
- Develop and maintain governance procedures that support business requirements and data standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SAP MDG functional and configuration issues.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into SAP MDG solutions.
- Conduct workshops and requirement sessions with data stewards, master data owners, and business users.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance data governance effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT), defect resolution, and production deployments.
- Ensure governance processes align with organizational data policies and compliance requirements.
- Support initiatives focused on improving data quality, data stewardship, and master data consistency.
- Participate in data cleansing, enrichment, and remediation efforts.
- Monitor governance workflows and assist with continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Support master data replication between SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA, and connected applications.
- Collaborate with ABAP developers and integration teams on enhancements, interfaces, and workflow improvements.
- Assist in testing and validating new functionality, upgrades, and system changes.
- Support ongoing integration activities across SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Participate in SAP MDG implementations, rollouts, upgrades, and enhancement projects.
- Create and maintain functional specifications, configuration documentation, and process procedures.
- Provide subject matter expertise during project planning, testing, deployment, and hypercare activities.
- Support production environments and troubleshoot governance-related issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of SAP experience with at least 3+ years focused on SAP MDG configuration and support.
- Hands-on experience configuring SAP MDG in enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with: SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA, Business Partner Governance, Material Master Governance, Customer and Supplier Master Data, BRF+, SAP Workflow, SAP Fiori, Data Services, SAP Data Intelligence, SAP BTP, SAP Data Management, Master Data Governance, Data Quality Management, Data Stewardship, Data Migration & Conversion, Data Replication, Governance Workflows.
- Experience gathering requirements and supporting business process improvements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: SAP MDG certification and/or SAP S/4HANA certification.
- Experience supporting global master data governance programs.
- Knowledge of data quality management and master data lifecycle processes.
- Experience working in Agile project environments.
