Location: Remote
Preference: Candidates based in Virginia, including Northern VA, or North Carolina, and within driving distance of our office in Newport News, VA, in case occasional onsite visits (approximately once a month) are required.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Marketing Cloud Engagement Developer who can design and manage journeys, automations, and messaging logic across email, SMS, push, and web using Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement. The role will focus on delivering consistent, personalized customer experiences, integrating personalization signals from Data Cloud, and ensuring compliance with messaging regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Journey Orchestration: Build and maintain multi-step journeys in Journey Builder, Automation Studio workflows, and dynamic content using AMPscript and SSJS.
- Omnichannel Strategy: Partner with personalization developers to align cross-channel offers, manage conflict resolution, and coordinate campaign sequencing.
- Integration & Reporting: Configure Marketing Cloud Connect, synchronize CRM data, and build attribution dashboards for performance insights.
- Compliance: Ensure messaging meets GLBA, TCPA, Fair Lending, and privacy requirements and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Optimization: Monitor deliverability and campaign performance and continuously improve engagement outcomes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in application/software/data integration development
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement
- Strong experience with Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, Content Builder, and Contact Builder
- Strong skills in AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, and API integrations
- Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Developer required
- Email Specialist or Data Cloud Consultant certification preferred
- Experience in regulated industries and cross-channel personalization preferred
