Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer to design, develop, enhance, and support real-time Java applications for a high-performance enterprise platform.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Core Java, J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, JMS, Kafka, multithreading, Oracle, PL/SQL, application performance tuning, and production troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop real-time Java applications.
- Design and develop asynchronous, message-based applications.
- Integrate applications with third-party feed providers for accessing real-time data.
- Develop applications meeting high availability, scalability, security, auditing, and other non-functional requirements.
- Participate in coding, testing, debugging, and documentation activities.
- Respond to critical production issues and provide immediate workarounds to maintain business continuity.
- Work on new initiatives while supporting existing applications.
- Perform application and system performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot application and system performance issues.
- Apply object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns.
- Integrate in-house applications with various vendor software platforms.
- Perform unit testing and resolve application defects.
- Interface with databases to extract information and build reports.
- Collaborate effectively with customers, business users, and IT teams.
Required Qualifications
- 10–12 years of IT experience in application development and support.
- Strong hands-on experience with Core Java, J2EE, JMS, multithreading, and Spring Framework.
- Strong understanding of JVM architecture and garbage collection algorithms.
- Strong understanding of:
- Thread lifecycle and synchronization
- Executor Framework and thread pools
- Java Collections internals
- Java memory management and memory leaks
- Strong understanding of Spring Boot architecture.
- Experience with microservices architecture and patterns.
- Strong experience with complex PL/SQL development.
- Strong experience with SQL and query tuning.
- Strong experience troubleshooting real-world production issues.
- Experience identifying performance bottlenecks and implementing remediation.
- Strong experience with JMS, including broker configuration, tuning, and failover.
- Strong experience with Kafka.
- Experience working in an Oracle Database environment.
- Experience deploying Java/J2EE applications on Tomcat or other application servers.
- Experience with Hibernate or other ORM technologies.
- Experience using source control systems, system tools, utilities, and third-party products.
- Basic networking knowledge.
- Experience with Unix/Linux scripting.
- Strong understanding of error handling and resilience patterns.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Experience working with real-time data feeds.
- Experience integrating applications with external data/feed providers.
- Experience supporting mission-critical production applications.
