Overview

We’re seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join our engineering team and play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining cloud-native, event-driven microservices. This position requires deep technical expertise in Java (17+) and Spring Boot, along with a strong grasp of modern software architecture and design patterns.

As a hands-on senior engineer, you’ll contribute to solution design, perform code reviews, mentor peers, and ensure best practices are followed across the development lifecycle. You’ll collaborate closely with team leads, architects, and clients to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy modern Java-based microservices using Spring Boot and Java 17+.

Collaborate with architects and lead engineers on system design, integration, and performance optimization.

Implement event-driven and cloud-native architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar).

Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable code following best practices and design patterns.

Participate in and lead peer reviews, ensuring code quality, security, and performance standards are met.

Partner with DevOps teams to support CI/CD automation, containerization, and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes).

Work across teams in an Agile environment, contributing to sprints, story refinement, and retrospectives.

Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.

Collaborate directly with business and client stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver impactful solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of professional software engineering experience.

Advanced proficiency in Java (Java 17+) and Spring Boot (Spring Data, Spring Security, REST APIs).

Strong background in microservices and event-driven architecture.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).

Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.).

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).

Strong understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and common design patterns.

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Effective collaborator with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Kafka, Redis, or similar distributed technologies.

Experience with security frameworks (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT).

Exposure to API gateways and service meshes.

Knowledge of DevOps principles, observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK), and performance monitoring.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
