Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced UI/UX Designer with strong Japanese language proficiency to design intuitive, user-friendly, and visually engaging digital products for Japanese customers and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in UX research, wireframing, prototyping, UI design, usability testing, and design systems, along with a good understanding of Japanese user behavior, culture, and design preferences.
Key Responsibilities
• Design end-to-end user experiences for web and mobile applications.
• Conduct user research, interviews, usability testing, and competitor analysis.
• Create user flows, information architecture, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
• Develop high-fidelity UI designs using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
• Localize UI/UX designs and content for the Japanese market.
• Work closely with Japanese-speaking customers, product managers, developers, and business stakeholders.
• Translate business and user requirements into effective design solutions.
• Ensure designs follow Japanese cultural, linguistic, and usability expectations.
• Create and maintain UI component libraries and design systems.
• Conduct usability reviews and incorporate user feedback into design iterations.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
• Present design concepts and recommendations to Japanese clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure consistency across desktop, mobile, and responsive platforms.
Required Skills
• 8+ years of professional experience in UI/UX Design.
• Strong knowledge of UX principles, interaction design, visual design, and usability.
• Hands-on experience with Figma; experience with Adobe XD/Sketch is an advantage.
• Strong experience in wireframing, prototyping, user flows, and high-fidelity UI design.
• Experience designing responsive web and mobile applications.
• Understanding of design systems, accessibility, typography, color theory, and interaction patterns.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UI/UX projects.
• Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into user-centered designs.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Japanese Language Requirement
• Japanese proficiency: JLPT N2 or N1 preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Japanese clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to understand Japanese business requirements and UX/UI terminology.
• Experience working with Japanese-language websites, applications, or digital products is highly desirable.
• Understanding of Japanese culture, user behavior, and localization practices is preferred.
Preferred Skills
• Experience working with Japanese clients or global delivery teams.
• Experience in Japanese UX localization.
• Knowledge of Japanese design conventions and accessibility standards.
• Experience with design systems and component libraries.
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and front-end development.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Experience in usability testing and analytics tools.
• Knowledge of mobile-first and responsive design principles.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
