Job Summary

The State Government is seeking a Data Analyst to support the identification, profiling, documentation, and classification of critical data elements across participating agencies. The selected candidate will assess metadata, data quality, sensitive information, anonymization requirements, and common data fields to support the Data Cataloging and Tagging Pilot.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of public-sector or government experience.
Strong experience in data analysis and data profiling.
Experience documenting metadata and data dictionaries.
Knowledge of data classification and sensitive data identification.
Experience evaluating data quality and data consistency.
Understanding of data privacy and anonymization requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on government data governance initiatives.
Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
Familiarity with metadata management and data cataloging tools.
Experience identifying personally identifiable information (PII).
Knowledge of data masking, anonymization, and privacy controls.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and inventory critical data elements across State agencies.
Analyze data structures, fields, metadata, and source systems.
Perform data profiling and document data quality findings.
Identify sensitive data requiring masking or anonymization.
Develop metadata inventories and data dictionaries.
Identify common data fields and relationships across agencies.
