We are looking for an experienced Data Security Analyst to join our team on a Contract basis. This role is suited for a self-directed, detail-oriented individual who can contribute immediately by leading security and compliance assessments across several client engagements at once. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment in evaluating control environments, interpreting evidence, and producing clear assessment documentation in fast-paced consulting settings.
Responsibilities:
Lead data security and compliance assessments for multiple client projects running in parallel.
Examine technical and administrative controls by analyzing policies, procedures, system settings, and other supporting documentation.
Determine whether client environments align with applicable compliance obligations and note areas requiring improvement.
Record observations, conclusions, and supporting materials accurately within Fieldguide or a similar assessment platform.
Partner with assessment leads and client stakeholders to collect information and confirm how controls are designed and operating.
Communicate progress, emerging risks, and key findings during internal status discussions and project checkpoints.
Manage deadlines across concurrent engagements while maintaining consistent quality and attention to detail.
Prepare assessment deliverables for manager review and incorporate feedback to support final quality assurance.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, governance, risk, and compliance, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated success performing HITRUST assessments in client-facing or consulting environments.
Ability to independently review security controls and evaluate the quality of supporting evidence with minimal supervision.
Experience identifying compliance gaps, documenting results, and recommending practical remediation actions.
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, control structures, and regulatory assessment practices.
HITRUST certification is required, though candidates with prior certification and substantial hands-on HITRUST assessment experience may also be considered.
Proficiency with Fieldguide or comparable audit, risk, or compliance management tools.
Relevant credentials such as CISSP and familiarity with healthcare or other regulated environments are preferred.
