Job Description


We are seeking a Security Software Data Engineer I to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Power BI, data modeling, SQL, and data integration and a proven ability to deliver interactive dashboards and analytics that drive cybersecurity decisions.


Responsibilities:



  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, scorecards, and interactive visualizations for cybersecurity operations, threat intelligence, engineering, risk, and leadership.

  • Create data models, DAX measures, semantic layers, and visual components using best practices and design guidance.

  • Build highly interactive visualizations with drill-through, drill-down, bookmarks, and dynamic filtering to enable exploration across dimensions.

  • Implement reporting and visualization capabilities using established requirements, designs, and data models.

  • Work with data pipelines, integrations, and ETL processes to enable reliable and scalable reporting solutions.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and business teams to align solutions with operational objectives.

  • Develop and maintain data quality controls, validation processes, testing practices, and documentation.

  • Contribute recommendations to improve visualization capabilities, user experience, and operational visibility.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including refinement, estimation, sprint planning, retrospectives, and standups.

  • Support peer reviews, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of solutions.

  • Drive continuous improvement for usability, performance, scalability, maintainability, and adoption.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Skills & Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 4-6+ years building BI, data visualization, reporting, analytics, or data engineering solutions.

  • Strong Power BI expertise including dashboard/report development, data modeling, DAX, performance optimization, and visualization design.

  • Proven experience designing intuitive and interactive visualizations that enable insight from complex datasets.

  • Hands-on development with drill-through, drill-down, bookmarks, dynamic filtering, and custom visuals in Power BI.

  • Strong SQL skills with relational databases, data warehouses, and large datasets.

  • Experience building and supporting ETL and data integrations for structured and semi-structured sources.

  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, or another modern language for automation, data processing, or integrations.

  • Experience with cloud data platforms and services, preferably AWS.

  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, data modeling, and reporting best practices.

  • Ability to validate data accuracy and implement automated testing and monitoring for reporting solutions.

  • Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to implement scalable visualization solutions based on established requirements and objectives.

  • A continuous improvement mindset focused on usability, performance, sustainability, maintainability, and operational excellence.


Preferred Skills:



  • Experience supporting cybersecurity, threat intelligence, risk management, fraud, compliance, or similar operational programs.

  • Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.

  • Familiarity with Power BI administration, governance, deployment pipelines, workspace management, and security models.

  • Experience developing KRIs, KPIs, operational scorecards, and executive reporting.

  • Knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional and semantic modeling, and analytical design techniques.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud-native development practices.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity data sources, security operations workflows, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, or security analytics.
