Job Role: AWS Architect
Location: Sacramento, California (Onsite)
Duration : 1 Year
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced AWS Architect to design, implement, and optimize cloud-native solutions with a strong focus on Amazon Connect and its surrounding serverless ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise architecting contact center solutions on AWS, integrating serverless compute, NoSQL data stores, identity/access controls, and observability tooling.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement end-to-end architecture for Amazon Connect-based contact center solutions, including flows, queues, routing profiles, and third-party integrations.
• Build and maintain serverless business logic using AWS Lambda, integrating with Connect contact flows for dynamic call handling, IVR logic, and CTI events.
• Design efficient, scalable data models and access patterns using Amazon DynamoDB for customer/session data, call metadata, and configuration storage.
• Define and enforce IAM roles, policies, and least-privilege access models across services to ensure secure, compliant architecture.
• Implement robust logging and monitoring strategies using CloudWatch (Logs, Metrics, Alarms, Dashboards) and related tools to ensure system observability, troubleshooting, and SLA compliance.
• Collaborate with contact center operations, engineering, and security teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs.
• Create architecture diagrams, design documents, and best-practice guidelines for AWS Connect ecosystem deployments.
• Conduct code/architecture reviews, performance tuning, and cost optimization across Lambda, DynamoDB, and Connect resources.
• Troubleshoot production issues involving Connect flows, Lambda functions, DynamoDB throughput/latency, and IAM permission errors.
• Stay current with AWS service updates relevant to Connect, Lambda, DynamoDB, and security/logging best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Connect — contact flows, Lambda integration, Lex/bots (if applicable), routing, queues, and reporting.
• Proficiency in AWS Lambda (Node.js, Python, or Java) for event-driven and Connect-integrated workloads.
• Deep working knowledge of Amazon DynamoDB — data modeling, indexes (GSI/LSI), capacity planning, and performance optimization.
• Solid understanding of AWS IAM — roles, policies, cross-account access, and security best practices.
• Experience with AWS logging/monitoring tools — CloudWatch Logs, Metrics, Alarms, X-Ray (nice to have), and log aggregation strategies.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform) is a plus.
• Familiarity with API Gateway, S3, SNS/SQS, and EventBridge is a plus.
• Strong understanding of AWS security, networking, and cost-optimization principles.
• Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• AWS Certification (Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional, or AWS Certified Developer).
• Prior experience in contact center / CCaaS platforms (Amazon Connect, Genesys, NICE, etc.).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for serverless deployments.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
