Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and collaborative Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain APIs across multiple lines of business within an Agile framework. In this role, you will act as a key advocate for the API Management platform, partnering with business application developers to drive customer adoption, engagement, and the reuse of robust Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) best practices. This contract engagement runs through December 31, 2027.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain scalable APIs and microservices for multiple lines of business within an Agile SDLC
- Collaborate cross-functionally with architects, engineers, business analysts, and service managers to align technical solutions with business goals
- Evangelize SOA best practices, focusing on scalability, maintainability, and code reuse to accelerate platform adoption
- Manage competing priorities and learn complex business domains quickly to deliver high-quality technical solutions
Qualifications & Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience spanning programming, analysis, design, development implementation, QA, and application support
- Practical experience and working knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Microservices, and API Gateways
- Hands-on familiarity with at least one enterprise API gateway technology, such as 3Scale, MuleSoft, Apigee Edge, CA Technologies, TIBCO Mashery, Axway, or IBM API Gateway
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a proven ability to work effectively across multiple cross-functional teams
- U.S. citizenship or status (required to pass a Peraton Moderate background check)
