Position Summary
The QA Engineer will be responsible for testing, validation, and issue analysis across internal and OEM device configurations. This role supports continuous integration and continuous delivery quality initiatives, validation activities, compliance requirements, and release readiness. The successful candidate will work closely with platform engineering, automation, and validation teams to identify issues, execute test plans, and deliver high quality results.
Key Responsibilities
Configure and prepare development boards and OEM devices for testing and validation activities.
Flash software builds and configure UEFI, operating system images, and debugger settings.
Enable crash dump collection and install system on chip, graphics, and platform drivers.
Develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests across functional, stress, power, and performance areas.
Perform exploratory testing to identify edge cases and subsystem level issues.
Triage defects found on internal and OEM platforms and track reproduction status.
Collect logs, crash dumps, and diagnostic information to assist with root cause analysis and debugging activities.
Partner with BSP, OEM QA, and automation teams to support timely validation efforts.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure build readiness and issue resolution.
Prepare test execution reports and communicate quality status to project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Experience with Windows BSP testing and platform setup.
Strong understanding of device validation and quality assurance methodologies.
Experience with UEFI flashing and KDNET debugging.
Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools.
Knowledge of power states, hibernate cycles, and modern standby behavior.
Experience performing bug triage, log analysis, and defect reporting.
Experience supporting OEM device validation efforts.
Understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery processes.
Knowledge of BSP build validation and QA automation practices.
Familiarity with USB4, DisplayPort tunneling, and certification readiness activities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting hardware and software integration testing.
Experience working with platform level validation and debugging.
Knowledge of graphics, compute, or embedded device environments.
Experience supporting large scale release readiness initiatives.
