Genesis10 is currently seeking an Aerospace Expert Quality Engineer position with a Global Manufacturing Company located in Sylmar, CA. This is a direct-hire opportunity. Embedded within the Design Engineering organization, this role is the lead quality engineering authority for New Product Introduction (NPI), New Product Development (NPD), and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). You will serve as a strategic partner to Design Engineering, Program Management, and Operations to ensure products and processes are designed for quality, manufacturability, and compliance. This position functions as the technical leader for APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and other quality systems in compliance with AS9100 and other aerospace standards.
Responsibilities: - Serve as the Quality Engineering lead for all New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities
- Lead implementation of APQP methodologies across product development and launch activities
- Lead risk identification and mitigation activities throughout product development
- Lead Aerospace Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) implementation and readiness activities
- Act as the primary quality representative within Design Engineering
- Review qualification and verification plans to ensure customer, regulatory, and internal requirements are met
- Analyze quality data, lessons learned, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and preventive quality initiatives
- Influence engineering and business decisions through technical expertise, risk-based thinking, and cross-functional leadership
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 7+ years of aerospace, defense, automotive, or highly regulated manufacturing experience
- Minimum 5+ years leading New Product Development, New Product Introduction, Product Launch, or Advanced Quality Planning initiatives
- Demonstrated experience implementing APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and production readiness methodologies
Desired skills: - Master's Degree
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Black Belt, or equivalent certification
Pay range: $140,000 - $160,000 per year
