This opportunity is a site-based position with occasional nonstandard hours. There is a 40-hour guarantee (+Overtime), with most work occurring at our outside partner sites.
As a Commissioning Engineer Lead, a typical day for you might include: - Scheduling commissioning engineers and technicians to execute commissioning tests at supplier sites, and occasionally customer sites.
- Travels throughout US to support to start up, repair, troubleshoot, modular data centers at our partner sites.
- Problem solving with commissioning engineers & technicians, electricians, manufacturing partners, technical support, and Field Service Representatives
- Completion of commissioning reports and expense reports
- Authoring commissioning test plans and training fellow engineers on writing test plans
- Working with your Manager and/or Regional Service Director to resolve complex escalated issues
- Plays lead role in training OG commissioning engineers and technicians
- Continuous learning and training on various products both in the field and in the classroom
On some days, you may even: - Travel to Mexico to support other manufacturing partner or customer sites outside your local region. This includes overnight travel by vehicle/air.
- Assist and support Project Management on larger system start-ups.
- Work alongside larger teams of FSRs and collaborate with Project Managers on higher complexity projects.
- Act as the lead personnel on behalf of Schneider Electric with our Manufacturing Partners
This may be the next step in your career if you have: - A masters or bachelor's degree or extensive trade or military equivalent experience.
- The ability to read blueprints/schematics and train others to do so
- Expert level of understanding of principles of AC and DC power, various AC and DC supply circuit components include 3-phase power.
- 10+ years of Industrial and/or Commercial Electrical experience
- 5+ years of field service repair and customer service with Medium & Low Voltage Switchgear and UPS (Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, power distribution and switchgear, seamless automatic transfer switches (ATS), power distribution units, electrical, electro-mechanical or electronics related equipment.
- 6+ years in Field Services or equivalent industry experience in a role with significant travel.
- English proficiency required to communicate with customers and team members at a leadership level.
- Excellence in computer skills and systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office: Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel; and the ability to navigate and utilize company digital tools and resources.
- Must possess good safety practices and adhere to the company's safety procedures/polices (lock out tag out, comply with all safety programs and complete safety related training on time.
- Identify hazards present in the work area and report all safety matters, incidents, near misses, to management or safety representative.
- NFPA-70E or OSHA experience is preferred.
- Safe driving and vehicle operations skills
- Expertise in utilizing test and diagnostic equipment
- Advanced knowledge in reading and interpreting schematics, drawings, and operation manuals with the ability to train others to do so.
- The ability to write service reports, correspondence, procedures, effectively present information and respond to customer questions with the ability to train others to do so.
- Work frequently requires strenuous physical tasks, including bending, stooping and lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Work outside in a variety of environmental extremes such as heat, cold, rain, and dust.
- Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time, including working in small, confined spaces.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 101,600 - USD 152,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
