Location: Vienna, VA, Winchester, VA, Pensacola, FL, or San Deigo, CA (Remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking an Integration Platform Engineer with a specialization in Kafka. This role involves supporting enterprise messaging and event-driven platforms. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in the administration and management of multi-environment Confluent Kafka deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support enterprise messaging and event-driven platforms.
- Perform hands-on administration of Confluent Kafka.
- Manage multi-environment Kafka deployments, including Development, QA, Performance, DR, and Production.
- Oversee Kafka cluster sizing, broker management, partition strategy, replication, retention policies, and capacity planning.
- Troubleshoot producer, consumer, broker, and cluster-level issues.
- Work with Confluent Control Center, Schema Registry, Connect, ksqlDB, and stream processing technologies.
- Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and multi-cluster replication strategies.
- Manage Kafka security, including TLS, mTLS, RBAC, ACLs, encryption, and authentication mechanisms.
- Integrate Kafka with Kubernetes/OpenShift, cloud platforms, observability tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
Required Qualifications
Experience:- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise messaging and event-driven platforms.
- 3+ years of hands-on administration experience with Confluent Kafka.
- A strong understanding of event-driven architecture, data contracts, and enterprise integration patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Confluent certifications are preferred.
