About the Role We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to lead the architecture, governance, reliability, and evolution of enterprise integration platforms. This position combines hands-on integration platform expertise with architecture ownership and technical leadership. You will manage cloud and hybrid integration environments, modernize legacy solutions, establish engineering standards, and enable secure, scalable communication between SAP, SaaS applications, APIs, and enterprise systems.
Responsibilities
Own the architecture, lifecycle, availability, capacity, and performance of local and global integration platforms.
Design and improve end-to-end cloud and hybrid infrastructure supporting enterprise applications and integration patterns.
Lead the migration of legacy integration solutions to modern cloud platforms, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security.
Establish and enforce integration development standards, governance policies, and engineering best practices. Review and improve ESB, API gateway, messaging, and event-driven architecture designs.
Lead the implementation of messaging, data streaming, Pub/Sub, and real-time integration capabilities. Manage Azure services supporting the integration platform, including AKS, Event Hub, Service Bus, Blob Storage, and Azure Files.
Design and oversee complex integrations between SAP/S/4HANA, SaaS platforms, and other enterprise applications.
Support API and integration technologies such as TIBCO, Apigee, Kafka, and iPaaS platforms such as Workato.
Lead technical deliveries using CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Azure DevOps.
Review existing platforms through reverse engineering and document current and future-state architectures.
Facilitate requirements gathering, technical design reviews, troubleshooting sessions, and bug analysis. Partner with global architecture, infrastructure, network, security, development, and operations teams.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for integration platform requests, issues, and architectural decisions.
Mentor developers and operational teams on platform standards and integration best practices. Communicate platform changes, enhancements, risks, and technical decisions to local and global stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Strong experience designing, implementing, and managing enterprise integration platforms.
Hands-on expertise with ESB, API gateway, messaging, or streaming technologies such as TIBCO, Apigee, and Kafka. Advanced experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly AKS, Event Hub, Service Bus, Blob Storage, and Azure Files.
Experience designing cloud and hybrid system architectures.
Proven experience integrating SAP or S/4HANA with SaaS and enterprise applications.
Strong knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs, JSON, webhooks, Pub/Sub, MFT, and event-driven architecture.
Understanding of API security and identity standards, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, and API keys.
Experience with data mapping, transformation, data structures, and ETL processes.
Strong CI/CD knowledge using Git and Azure DevOps. Experience modernizing or migrating legacy integration platforms.
Ability to reverse-engineer and document existing systems and architectural designs.
Demonstrated technical leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Professional English communication skills for collaboration with global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Workato or another enterprise iPaaS platform.
Familiarity with DevOps practices for Hybrid Integration Platform environments.
Knowledge of networking, operating systems, security protocols, and enterprise infrastructure.
Experience working across Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.
Previous responsibility for platform governance, developer enablement, or technical mentoring.
