Information Technology (IT) Technician
The IT Technician provides hands-on technical assistance and support for District technology systems. Duties may include:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining computers, peripherals, and software.
- Responding to user support requests and troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Assisting with account creation, email setup, and system access administration.
- Maintaining inventory, documentation, backups, and equipment workflows.
- Supporting IT department projects and collaborating with District staff.
Information Systems Specialist
The Information Systems Specialist performs higher-level systems analysis, coordination, and technical consultation. Responsibilities may include:
- Providing advanced troubleshooting and analytical support for District systems.
- Evaluating hardware, software, workflow processes, and integration needs.
- Supporting programming, reporting, business system configuration, and system interfaces.
- Operating and supporting computers, peripherals, and communications equipment.

ABOUT THE DISTRICT
The Vallejo Flood and Wastewater District (the District) is an independent special district established by the State of California in 1952 to manage wastewater collection and treatment, as well as protect the Vallejo community from flooding. Operating separately from the City of Vallejo, the District’s dedicated team works to enhance sanitary sewer and storm drain systems, delivering high-quality service to the community.
Governance is provided by an eight-member Board of Trustees, composed of the seven Vallejo City Council members and one at-large member appointed by the Solano County Board of Supervisors. With 99 full-time equivalent employees, the District is committed to safeguarding public health, safety, and the environment through reliable wastewater and flood control services.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Information Technology Technician Salary Range: $90,909.94 – $ 100,222.10
- Information Systems Specialist Salary Range: $156,459.26 – $172,502.30

DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
If you are a successful candidate for this position, you will be asked to take an Oath or Affirmation of Allegiance for Public Employees. All Vallejo Flood and Wastewater District employees are, by state and federal law, Disaster Service Workers. The roles and responsibilities for Disaster Service Workers are authorized by the California Emergency Services Act and are defined in the California Labor Code. In the event of a declaration of emergency, any employee may be assigned to perform activities that promote the protection of public health and safety or the preservation of lives and property. The assignment may require service at locations, times, and under conditions that are significantly different from normal work assignments and may continue into the recovery phase of the emergency. If a “Local Emergency” is declared during the employee’s shift, employees will be expected to remain at work to respond to the community's emergency needs. If a “Local Emergency” is declared outside of the employee’s shift, employees must make every effort to contact their direct supervisor or department head to obtain reporting instructions as a Disaster Service Worker. Consequently, your personal contact information must be provided to the District.
