Job Title: Lead Data Engineer
Location: West Palm Beach, FL (5 Days Onsite)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our team in West Palm Beach, FL. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with a strong background in data engineering and a deep understanding of data architecture, data pipelines, and analytics. The ideal candidate will lead technical initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and coordinate effectively with offshore teams in Poland to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration frameworks
- Responsible for end-to-end data solutions covering ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption layers
- Own technical decision-making for data platform architecture (batch and real-time processing)
- Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and performance tuning of data pipelines
Team & People Management
- Lead and mentor a global team of data engineers across US and Europe
- Build a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team
- Coordinate with distributed teams to ensure 24x5/follow-the-sun delivery models where applicable
Data Pipeline & Infrastructure
- Design and implement data pipelines handling large-scale structured and unstructured data
- Build and maintain data warehouses / data lakes / lakehouse architectures
- Ensure data quality, data governance, and data lineage across all pipelines
- Optimize pipeline performance, cost, and reliability (monitoring, alerting, error handling)
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with product managers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional/offshore-onshore teams to ensure alignment on priorities and delivery timelines
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of overall experience in data engineering, with 5+ years in a technical lead/lead engineer capacity
- Proven experience leading and managing global/distributed engineering teams
- Strong hands-on expertise in ETL/ELT development and data pipeline design
- Experience with big data ecosystems and cloud data platforms
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Data Science or advanced analytics environments.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with modern orchestration and big data technologies is a plus.
