Instagram, a photo sharing app for iOS devices, has gotten 5 million users and 95 million uploaded photos since its inception eight months ago, says TechCrunch. These figures might fool you into thinking there's a large team of smart people behind the startup -- but surprisingly, it has only four employees. Transforming from a location-based service called Burbn, Instagram is a combination of photo filter app and social network. It has up to 15 filters, and supports photo sharing on seven social networks  including Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Tumblr, Foursquare, Posterous and, of course, the Instagram photo feed. Given its popularity among iOS users, it could easily grow some more if it finally decides to set foot on the land of Android, wresting users from competitors like Picplz. However, it's understandable why Instagram hasn't brought the app to Android yet. With only four employees, it's wiser to focus on just one platform instead of splitting their attention between two half-baked apps and providing a mediocre user experience. The startup raised $7 million in February, bringing its total funding $7.5 million. In contrast, Color, a more unique social photo app for both iOS and Android, was funded a whoping $41 million, though its user adoption wasn't as proportional. Source: TechCrunch
