Senior Quality Engineering Consultant ? Oracle Fusion HCM - Test Lead

5-7 years in QA/QE, including 3+ years leading functional test delivery on Oracle HCM implementations.
Job Summary
The Senior Quality Engineering Consultant will serve as the functional quality authority for the HCM pillar, focusing on Core HR and the full employee lifecycle, including US Payroll and Benefits. This role is critical in ensuring the safety of payroll cutover and managing the HCM test basis while directing offshore resources.
Responsibilities
· Own the HCM test basis: derive test conditions and scenarios from HCM enterprise and workforce structures, security and role design, and end-to-end employee lifecycle process flows.
- Author and review functional test scenarios across the in-scope HCM footprint.
- Lead functional test execution through system, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing; direct and quality-check offshore QE resources assigned to HCM.
- Own payroll test execution: gross-to-net validation, earnings and deduction element testing, retroactive processing, off-cycle and adjustment scenarios, year-end and W-2 validation, tax filing interfaces, and multi-jurisdiction scenarios.
- Design and execute the parallel payroll run: reconciliation methodology, variance thresholds, exception investigation, and sign-off evidence.
- Test collective bargaining agreement?driven pay and work rules across represented employee groups.
- Own HCM integration test scenarios across a large interface estate.
- Validate HCM data conversion: worker records, position and job structures, supervisor hierarchies, compensation history, absence balances, seniority data, and payroll historical balances.
- Validate role-based access provisioning and segregation of duties for HCM.
- Facilitate UAT for HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Talent Acquisition business users.
- Coordinate with the ERP QE consultant on cross-pillar scenarios.
Mandatory Skills
· 10+ years in QA/QE, including 6+ years leading functional test delivery on Oracle HCM implementations.
- At least one full-lifecycle Oracle Fusion HCM Cloud implementation owned through go-live.
- Hands-on Oracle Cloud US Payroll testing experience, including at least one payroll go-live and direct involvement in a parallel payroll run.
- Functional depth in Oracle Fusion HCM: enterprise and workforce structures, person and assignment models, position management, supervisor hierarchies, security profiles and data roles, approval workflows, and fast formulas.
- Working knowledge of US payroll fundamentals.
- Experience with HCM data conversion validation.
- Experience leading or directing offshore test resources.
- Proficient with enterprise test management tooling.
- Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Preferred Skills
· PeopleSoft HCM background, particularly migration to Fusion.
- Payroll testing in a unionized environment.
- Experience in complex, regulated, or 24/7 operational industries.
- Oracle Benefits implementation testing experience.
- Exposure to Oracle Risk Management Cloud / HCM Advanced Controls.
- Automation literacy sufficient to specify and review automated HCM regression.
- Post-merger workforce integration experience.
