Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to drive execution for a next-generation ophthalmic surgical capital equipment platform focused on advanced cataract and retinal procedures. This role will lead multiple engineering workstreams for the platform's accessory portfolio within an FDA-regulated environment, operate alongside other PMs under a Program Lead, and report to the Asset Strategy Lead. The position emphasizes cross-functional coordination, rigorous planning in Planisware, risk management, and adherence to Design Controls and MDR requirements.

Rate: $100.00 to $130.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

Lead planning, scheduling, risk management, and execution for multiple accessory and subsystem workstreams supporting the capital equipment platform.
Coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and other stakeholders.
Manage external supplier partnerships and integrations as needed.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and resource plans using Planisware.
Identify risks, define mitigations, and communicate status and issues to leadership.
Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, MDR requirements, and Design Control processes.
Align workstreams with overall program strategy in partnership with the Program Manager and Asset Strategy Lead.
Track deliverables, dependencies, and critical path throughout the product development lifecycle.
Support governance forums and prepare project status updates for leadership.

Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering. MBA a plus.
Minimum 10 years in the Life Sciences industry.
Proven experience managing New Product Development programs for complex medical devices or capital equipment. Experience in Quality Engineering helpful.
Deep understanding of FDA regulations, MDR, Design Controls, and product development processes.
Advanced project management capability with multiple concurrent workstreams. PE or PMP desired.
Hands-on experience with Planisware for project and portfolio management.
Demonstrated success leading cross-functional engineering teams through regulated lifecycles.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
Nice to have: familiarity with Stage-Gate and portfolio governance; ophthalmology or surgical capital equipment experience.
Availability for travel approximately once per month to St. Louis, MO.
Immediate start preferred. Initial 6-month contract with likelihood to extend.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. MBA a plus.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
