Job Title: Project Manager (Process Mapping and Supplier Onboarding) Location: Remote (EST and CST) Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Client: Banking Role Summary The Project Manager will support a strategic initiative to streamline and improve the bank's fragmented
supplier onboarding process. The role will coordinate multiple workstreams involving third-party risk, strategic sourcing, legal, technology, and other supporting functions.
The primary focus will be documenting the current-state process, identifying gaps and pain points, designing improved workflows, and creating clear process maps that can be transitioned to the operations team.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and support process-improvement activities across approximately five to six supplier-onboarding workstreams.
- Facilitate discussions with stakeholders across third-party risk, sourcing, legal, technology, and business functions.
- Develop detailed process maps and workflows using Microsoft Visio or similar tools.
- Capture all process steps, dependencies, decision points, handoffs, and controls.
- Challenge assumptions and identify gaps, redundancies, and inefficiencies.
- Document current-state processes and help design future-state workflows.
- Recommend practical improvements to reduce fragmentation and improve efficiency.
- Translate stakeholder feedback and pain points into actionable process enhancements.
- Ensure completed process documentation is accurate, logical, comprehensive, and operationally usable.
- Partner with the initiative lead or overall project manager to track progress across workstreams.
Required Qualifications - Approximately 5-7 years of relevant project management, process improvement, business process analysis, or workflow documentation experience.
- Advanced experience developing detailed process maps and workflows.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Visio or comparable process-mapping tools.
- Ability to facilitate stakeholder discussions and gather information from multiple teams.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to identify process gaps, challenge assumptions, and recommend improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn complex, fragmented business processes and connect information across workstreams.
Preferred Qualifications - Banking or financial-services experience.
- Experience with third-party risk management or supplier/vendor onboarding.
- Experience streamlining supplier onboarding or procurement-related processes.
- Knowledge of banking controls, regulatory requirements, or risk-management practices.
- Visio or process-mapping certification.
- Workflow optimization, Lean, Six Sigma, or business process management experience.
Ideal Candidate Profile The strongest candidate will be a process-focused project manager who has deep experience creating operationally useful process maps, facilitating cross-functional discussions, and improving inefficient workflows. Banking or financial-services experience-particularly involving third-party risk and supplier onboarding-would be a significant advantage.
Pay Range: $55- $60/hr. on W2
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
