Job Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Unix Shell Scripting Engineer with 8+ years of experience to support critical applications for a leading US-based Investment Bank. The role requires strong Unix/Linux expertise, scripting skills, and experience in production support and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, maintain, and optimize Unix Shell (Korn Shell/Bash) scripts.
* Automate operational tasks, batch jobs, file transfers, and monitoring.
* Provide production support and troubleshoot Unix/Linux application issues.
* Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and database teams.
* Support application deployments and production releases.
* Ensure system stability, performance, and operational efficiency.
* Create and maintain technical documentation.
Required Skills:
* 8+ years of experience with Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting (Korn Shell/Bash).
* Strong knowledge of Unix commands, AWK, SED, GREP, Cron, and process management.
* Experience with SQL and Oracle or other relational databases.
* Familiarity with Git and file transfer protocols (SFTP/SCP).
* Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and automation skills.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience in Investment Banking or Financial Services.
* Knowledge of Control-M, Autosys, or similar scheduling tools.
* Exposure to Python, Perl, Jenkins, or Ansible is a plus.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work directly with customer teams in an onsite environment.
